FAMILY: The Love Verse - Self Assessment

Have you ever taken a self-assessment to check your Love Quotient?  Your Love Quotient is about improving your ability to express love to ourselves and others.

Probably all of us have heard of 'The Love Verse' from the Bible in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. It goes as follows. . .

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."

What a great verse. We can us it as a checklist to see how well we are doing with loving others. Now re-read the verses but this time put your name in for the word love. Got it? OK, here you go. . .

_____________ is kind.

_____________ does not envy,

_____________ does not boast,

_____________ is not proud.

_____________ does not dishonor others,

_____________ is not self-seeking,

_____________ is not easily angered,

_____________ keeps no record of wrongs.

_____________ does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

_____________ always protects,

_____________ always trusts,

_____________ always hopes,

_____________ always perseveres.

_____________ never fails.

You did it!! How'd you do? Were you convicted in some areas that maybe you could be loving better. Remember though, God doesn't want us to feel condemned (John 3: 17) but He does want to get our attention. We can always do better and improve so we represent Christ better to our family and the world.

Transformation

OK. I want to see families transformed. If we receive inspiration from God's word and do nothing with it, nothing changes. Take the Inspiration that you learned from God's word when you took the The Love Verse - Self Assessment from 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Now, Apply it to your lives. When you do, God can use The Love Verse - Self Assessment to Transform you and your family. Here's a simple formula:

Inspiration + Application = Transformation
